With Of Montreal’s newest release, Skeletal Lamping, frontman Kevin Barnes has gone to a new, sexually darker plane of existence. Barnes, whose alter ego is a black transsexual named Georgie Fruit, explores a new outlet for sexual frustration and fantasy. With song styles ranging glam-pop to noisy ballads, Barnes sounds on this album has been compared to everything from Bowie to Freddie Mercury.
