2010 Senior Bowl Quarterback Analysis
By: Hobie Artigue
The focus of this year’s Senior Bowl surrounded Tim Tebow, but the stands weren’t buzzing about the Florida superstar when it was all said and done. The record-shattering senior gave a somewhat lack-luster performance in Mobile, throwing for 50 yards and rushing for only 4. The biggest stat however, no touchdowns from Florida’s unquestioned leader.
Though Tim Tebow didn’t impress scouts or fans, there were other quarterbacks on hand who did.
Zach Robinson, Tebow’s back-up on the South team, put on quite a show for fans at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The former Oklahoma State stand-out aired the ball all over the field on his way to 176 passing yards and the South team’s only touchdown.
On the North’s side of the ball, Central Michigan’s Dan Lefevour may have been the last quarterback to see the field, but he’s the one that made the lasting impression. Lefevour only saw action in the second half of the game, but made the most of his time. He threw for just under 100 yards and a passing touchdown. The former Chippewa also showed off his improvisational skills when he recovered a bobbled snap and sneaked it into the end zone.
Both quarterbacks are ranked behind Tim Tebow on NFL Draft prospect boards, so we’ll see if this year’s Senior Bowl helped the two quarterbacks’ stock in April.
